Sant Feliu de Buixalleu is a municipality in the La Selva region (Girona – Spain), it has an area of more than 62 km2 and is made up of the parishes of Gaserans, Grions, Sant Feliu de Buixalleu and Sant Segimon.
The La Selva region is also known as the Water Region due to the large number of springs, fountains and streams that are found.
The municipality is very well located in the vicinity of the natural parks of Montnegre-Corredor and Montseny, declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. It is also close to the famous tourist towns of the Costa Brava of Tossa, Lloret de Mar and Blanes, which belong to the same region.
The municipality is very well connected by the AP-7 motorway that puts the cities of Barcelona and Girona just over 35 minutes away. It is also close to the high-speed train station and the international airports of Barcelona and Girona.

Another interesting place in Gaserans, especially from a historical point of view, is the Gorg Negre or Poza Negra, located under the old farmhouse of Perxa d'Astor or Percha del Azor which currently derives in the name of Can Perxistó, place where The Count of Barcelona Ramón Berenguer II, called Cap d'Estopes for his blond hair, was assassinated. The murder took place on 5/12/1082 at the hands of his own brother Berenguer Ramon II, the Fratricide. Where the crime took place there is a commemorative monument of the tragic event, in which you can see the family tree of the entire Catalan dynasty of that time.
That is why a hawk appears on the municipality's coat of arms.
There are also good restaurants and there is the possibility of doing countless routes on foot, by mountain bike and on horseback in the enormous extension of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu. It so happens that despite being one of the least populated municipalities, it is the largest in the province of Girona.
