Richard Rodrigo is a Spanish-Argentine businessman who currently directs a leading Spanish publishing group in that sector and who also owns companies in other sectors, this publishing house is the RBA Group which leads the market for collectibles and magazines. He was born in 1946 in the city of Buenos Aires and in 1971 he arrived in Barcelona

His first jobs when he arrived in the city of Barcelona were in the publishing area, where he became editorial director in Bruguera three years after arriving there. After much apprenticeship in publishing houses, he founded the RBA publishing house in 1991 together with the Planeta DeAgostini publishing house, which belonged to the Publishing group Planeta directed by Jose Manuel Lara, which would later become a competitor of Ricardo Rodrigo as it was the two largest publishers in Spanish capital and one of the first in Spanish in the world.

RBA Growth

In 1998 the decision was made and Rebuildables bought 50% of the shares from Planeta DeAgostini in order to establish itself as an independent group. That was the beginning of the group's growth, progressively acquiring the publishers La Magrana, Molino, Serres, Ediprem, Gredos, and magazines such as El Jueves and L'Avenç.

Added to this growth is the acquisition of 40% of the production company Òrbita Max and the formation of a company with BRB in 2006.

The agreement that has benefited the most RBA group was the one carried out with the Edipresse Hymsa publishing house thanks to which RBA Edipresse was created, which added the publications Lecturas and Semana to the group, which led it to have a total of 53 titles, bringing as a fundamental benefit that 50% of the income of the group comes from magazines, which have more stability than collectibles.

The most important thing is that Rodrigo plans to continue applying in the future the ideals that he has used until now, such as using any type of support for his different products, a success that has been either as a collectible or as a television program can turn it into a magazine or in a book and it will continue to be a success.

Rodrigo is pointed out as a businessman with left-wing ideals, which can be seen in the publishing group's publications and in the respect that it offers its employees in general.
