Anniversaries of publications of the RBA group in 2017

RBA hand in hand with his largest shareholder Richard Rodrigo, in 2017 throws the house out the window since three of its most widely distributed and award-winning magazines are anniversaries. It is nothing more and nothing less than, “Readings” who reaches a century of existence (100 Years), “Thursday” who reaches his 40 years against all odds and “National Geographic” the youngest of the three who has been in existence for two decades (20 years) in its Spanish version, which is the second outside of the English language behind the Japanese version.    

The 100 Years Readings magazine

The magazine “Readings 100 Years”  celebrates its anniversary with the headline "Reading 100 years of heart" since its inception as a women's supplement dedicated to fashion and home, the magazine has evolved to become a specialist in its genre with interviews with great personalities from entertainment and the world artists such as Isabel, Pantoja, Raphael, Julio and Enrique Iglesia Antonio Bandera and many more. From the hand of its Director Luis Pliego, it is preparing to receive new celebrities in the artistic medium such as YouTubers and more emerging personalities on its covers.   

It was said that the magazine had its beginnings in June of the year 1921, however thanks to the study of the RBA editors it was determined that the true beginning of this was in the years 1917 in the month of January.  

On Thursday 40 years since his birth in Barcelona

The Graphic Weekly Thursday of satirical humor had its beginning in Barcelona on May 27, 1977 with a cost to the public of 25 pesetas when there were many comics for adults in Spain. Its objective is to make fun of it in a satirical and caricatured way on current issues, being today the humor magazine with the longest history in Spanish society that has had the character Martínez el Facha as its protagonist.

Ironically, the magazine "El Jueves" comes out on Wednesdays and has won the National Comic Award for the year 2010.

Along the way, both the magazine "El Jueves" and its creators, editors, cartoonists and editorial have made numerous enemies due to the content in a mocking way towards different celebrities, policies that appear in its content. For this reason, society feels identified with the magazine.       

National Geographic 20 years since it began to be published in Spanish

Its first edition in Spanish came out in 1997 by RBA who brought it to Spain for the first time, National Geographic was created more than 125 years ago but the first edition in a language other than English was in Japanese, however Richard Rodrigo and his partners published it in November 1997 for the Spanish-speaking world.

Among his most viewed reports in these 20 years are "Noah's New Ark", "The Rhinoceros War", "One Species, a thousand breeds of dogs", "the Gospel of Judas" one of the most controversial topics "Child o Girl, man or woman, is it time to redefine gender?

Celebrities such as Pedro Duque (the first Spanish astronaut), Irina Bokova Director General of Unesco, Gary Nell President of the National Geographic Society, Carmelo Baturen President of Unicef ​​Spanish, gave their words of congratulations to National Geographic for its 20th Anniversary.
