The project to expand the port of Coma-ruga has taken another step when the El Vendrell City Council modified the General Plan to allow the work.
The project is to make 500 more moorings than the 265 it now has, in addition to a recreational area on the beach.
The design was already approved to expand the nautical area to approximately 800 berths and integrate the facility to the coast, instead of the current island port concept. An area mainly intended for catering and nautical services on the beach and 300 parking spaces are also contemplated.
Integration to the coast will be done by expanding the promenade, which will run along what will be one of the port's new docks and pass through the leisure area. The City Council intends that the project also include a remodeling of the Germans Trillas square, in front of the port, to gain another 300 parking spaces.
