Priscilla Presley is contesting her daughter Lisa Marie's will. The widow of the king of rock asks the judge to determine the validity of the new will because she alleges that her daughter's signature is "invalid".

Lisa Marie Presley passed away last January of a cardiac arrest at the age of 54. Elvis's only daughter still arrived alive at the hospital after receiving assistance at her home, during resuscitation exercises she managed to recover her pulse, but the doctors could not do anything to save her life and she ended up dying . Priscilla Presley, mother of Lisa Marie, notified the death of her daughter in a statement sent to People magazine specialized in celebrities.

Lisa Marie Presley was the singer's only daughter and had four children, Riley Keough, born May 29, 1989 who is an actress and filmmaker, Benjamin Storm Keough, born October 21, 1992 and died July 12, 2020, and twins Finley Aaron Love and Harper Vivienne Anne Lockwood, born in October 2008.

Presley followed in his father's footsteps and in 2003 released his first album, To Whom it May Concern, and this was followed by two more productions, but since 2012 he had not released any new album.

The same week of his death, the daughter of the king of rock and roll was seen at the Golden Globes gala with her mother, Priscilla Presley, as companions of actor Austin Butler who won the best actor award for his role as Elvis Presley in the biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann, although it seems that like every fictionalized biography in the film there are situations that have been "touched up" or omitted for the sake of the show.

When opening her daughter's will, some changes have appeared that Priscilla Presley was unaware of due to a 2016 review and that excluded her as manager of her estate. Her eldest daughter Riley Keough is her heir, along with her twin sisters Harper and Finley. The three will inherit the famous Graceland estate, owned by Elvis. But it seems that Riley will benefit more than her sisters from this last will because her mother would have left him in charge of managing all her finances and properties, a task that until this new will fell to her grandmother. Priscilla Preley.

This novelty has not sat well with Priscilla Presley, so she has decided to challenge the will. For this, the 77-year-old actress has presented the documents, before the Superior Court of Los Angeles, to challenge the last wills of his daughter, claiming that the deceased's signature on the 2016 will is "invalid."

If the signing of the will is not valid, one of the causes of nullity may be incurred and therefore it may be challenged. Some of the causes for nullity of a will may be:

  • Lack of capacity of the testator: The testator must be mentally capable of making a will.
  • Mistake or duress: If the testator has been tricked or coerced into making a will, it can be considered void.
  • Formal errors: Some countries require wills to be made in a specific way, such as in writing and before witnesses. If this formality is breached, the will can be considered void.
  • Inconsistencies, falsehoods or contradictions in the will: If the will contains errors or contradictions that make it impossible to understand or fulfill, it can be considered void.
  • Fraud: If it is shown that the will was made for fraudulent purposes, it can be considered void.
