The Works on the beaches of Coma-ruga correspond to works that will repair the damage caused to the rock wall of the Masía Blanca and the tiles of the Coma-ruga promenade.
A few days ago, the general directorate of Costas (Ministry of the Environment) began a project to improve the beaches of Vendrell to repair some damage caused by the Levante storm that took place last November. In Coma-ruga, in the area of the Masía Blanca, the rock wall over which the coastal path passes has been rebuilt and the sand that the storm removed from this point has been removed.
In addition, work has begun on the promenade on the beaches to replace the wooden entrances to the beach area with tiles. “The wood that was installed in these small areas, at the time, was of good quality but over time the humidity and salt have degraded the slats until they became a pedestrian hazard,” explained the councilor of Playas, Republican Josep Marrasé. According to him, the works being done now will ensure the good condition of the beaches when the season begins. Marrasé trusts that replacing wood with tiles will also guarantee greater durability and easier maintenance of the area.
